Abstract
Eight novel triazinyl phenylthiomethanesulfonyl ureas (2, 3) were prepared by reacting phenylthiomethanesulfonamides (1) with 4, 6 - dichloro -2-triazinyl isocyanate using potassium carbonate as catalyst, and then treated further with sodium methoxide in methanol. At 1000g(a.i.)/ha preemergence and 500g(a. i.)/ha postemergence the compound 3d showed 100% and 60% control of Raphanus S L respectively.
