Abstract
The authors have used accurate theoretical values for the energies of low-lying states of the isoelectronic series of helium, together with 1Z-expansion theory, to compute to six-figure accuracy some of the spectral lines to be expected if a quark were to be embedded in the nucleus of a helium atom. These wavelengths may be of interest to searches for quark-He lines in laboratory or astrophysical spectra or for single-atom detection of such quark atoms. © 1979 The American Physical Society.
