Abstract
An in-depth overview on an emerging area of the additive-manufacturing-enabled, accelerated design of Ni-based alloys for improved high-cycle and very-high-cycle fatigue life is presented. Existing literature on the subject is critically reviewed, and key knowledge gaps are identified. An efficient life-cycle approach, integrating the model-make-measure-verify strategy in the design of these alloys is introduced and discussed.
