Multifunctional thermoset polymers with self-healing ability

Abstract
To meet increasingly complex needs in modern industries, it is highly desired to develop thermoset polymers with multifunctional properties. For example, in electrical and electronic fields, fire hazard caused by the flammability of thermoset polymers always leads to a great loss of lives and properties. To save energy and time, rapid prototyping or 3D printing of thermoset polymer is becoming more and more important. For application in engineering structures, good damping performance is expected. In addition, to fabricate smart device or robots, shape-memory property of thermoset polymers provides great benefits. In this chapter, we reviewed and summarized our recent works about the development of recyclable shape memory thermoset polymers with multifunctional properties, such as flame retardancy, damping performance, and photo-polymerizable ability. In detail, we first present the characterizations of each properties. And then we report the recycling performance of each thermoset polymers that we have developed, followed by a result analysis section of various additional properties.
