Abstract
This paper presents fretting behavior of a rubber coating undergoing fretting-like, oscillatory motion. Friction and wear of the rubber coating on stainless steel as a function of bulk temperature and surface roughness of the hard counterpart are investigated. Coating life and friction coefficient are experimentally investigated before and after the rubber coating is fully worn out. © 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
