Characterization of the β-cyclodextrin/acridine complex
The quenching of acridine (ACR) fluorescence as a result of complexation with β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) is investigated. An equilibrium constant of approximately 287 M-1 is calculated for the association of ACR and β-CD through application of a nonlinear regression method. Contributions to the quenching constant from static and dynamic components are systematically resolved through lifetime analysis. © 1991 American Chemical Society.
