Abstract
A large variety of substituted polyacetylenes is reviewed, most substituents being conjugated with the polyenic chain. The threshold temperature and the activation energy values are given for the thermal isomerization of cis-transoidal polyacetylene and cis-cisoidal polyphenylacetylene. Some technological prospects are discussed in view of the most recent data.
