Abstract
A new questionnaire, the Knowledge of Memory Aging Questionnaire, assesses general knowledge of normal and pathological memory aging for use with students, older adults, and service providers who work with the elderly. The questionnaire consists of 28 true/false items covering a broad range of memory behaviors that are characteristic of normal age-related memory changes and abnormal memory deócits due to nonnormative factors such as adult dementia. The procedures used in the development of the questionnaire and the results of four preliminary studies are described. Implications of these data for the design of educational programs for older adults and service providers are considered. © 2000 Taylor and Francis Group, LLC.
