Abstract
Obesity is a serious worldwide problem that is increasing in prevalence. Obesity results from increased energy intake from food exceeding what is needed for daily energy expenditure over a considerable period of time. Obesity predicts the risk for many diseases, including diabetes, liver and gall bladder disease, infectious diseases such as SARSCov-19, and heart disease, among others. Treatments for obesity include diet, exercise, behavioral therapy, medications, and surgery.
