Abstract
This paper compares the suitability of isokinetic lifting strengths with the suitability of isometric lifting strengths for estimating the maximum lifting capabilities of individuals for either frequent or infrequent tasks. The results of two independent studies indicate that isokinetic lifting strengths are better suited for estimating maximum lifting capabilities. The two devices for measuring isokinetic strengths, CYBEX and Mini-Gym, are also compared. © 1986.
