Biography of all authors
Aakash Khandelwal is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Michigan State University (MSU). He received the B.Tech degree from the National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, India in 2019, and the PhD degree from Michigan State University in 2025, all in Mechanical Engineering. He was awarded the 2024-25 Fitch H. Beach Award for outstanding graduate research in Mechanical Engineering from MSU. His research interests lie in the areas of dynamics, controls, and robotics.
Ranjan Mukherjee is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Michigan State University (MSU). He received his B.Tech degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, in 1987 and his MS and PhD degrees from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1989 and 1991, respectively, all in Mechanical Engineering. His research interests lie in the areas of mechatronics and robotics. He is a Fellow of ASME.
