Md Shafikul Islam is a Ph.D. student in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Louisiana State University (LSU), USA, where he works as a Graduate Research Assistant in the AnalyticsIQ Lab. His research focuses on cyber-physical intelligence in additive manufacturing, with emphasis on physics-informed machine learning, uncertainty-aware modeling, and closed-loop process control. He develops data-driven and physics-guided methods for defect detection, digital twins, and reliable decision-making in advanced manufacturing systems. He has authored multiple journal and conference publications in manufacturing, machine learning, and systems analytics. His broader goal is to enable trustworthy and transferable autonomy in cyber-physical manufacturing systems.
