Abstract
Comprehensive school physical activity programs (CSPAP) offer many opportunities for children and adolescents to be physically active. CSPAP implementation is challenging, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this article, we define physical activity opportunity (PAO), identify the common sources of PAOs, and conclude with a set of strategies for offering and optimizing PAOs in and beyond schools. Effective physical activity and wellness promotion takes collective initiatives by stakeholders, in and beyond schools.
