Abstract
Srat al-Maida, verses 42-8 comprises a meditation (or set of exhortations) concerning the role of revelation in judicial decision making. In the late 1930s a rabbi in Yemen petitioned the Muslim ruler, asking that Jews who made recourse to Sharia courts be sent to Jewish religious courts instead.
