Abstract
In this work we discuss the impact of a series of technologies for analysis and improvement of industrial manufacturing operations. These technologies are fused in a model-centric framework for integrated simulation, estimation/reconciliation and optimization of large-scale/plant-wide industrial process systems. A continuing industrial case-study is used to illustrate the viability of these technologies and their impact on the industrial workplace. © 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
