Functionalized silica facilitated proton-coupled electron transfer in electrochemical reduction of CO2

Abstract
This work considers composite electrocatalysts including functionalized silica and carbon-supported Pd nanoparticles to facilitate directed proton coupled electron transfer (PCET) CO2 reduction reactions. Results show ligands may improve hydrogenation of CO leading to increased selectivity and yields of CH3OH.
